BROWN BROTHERS® Distribution becomes PPG Refinish Distribution

Brown Brothers Distribution was founded over 130 years ago and has since grown to become one of the leading automotive refinish distributors in the UK. The company was purchased in 2008 by PPG, the leading global coatings company, which led Brown Brothers to become an award-winning distribution business. Brown Brothers services the collision, commercial transport and light industrial industries with PPG’s market-leading coatings and sundries. Brown Brothers is a key element in PPG’s proposition that has enabled the company to provide a complete bodyshop solutions service, including bodyshop and claims management systems provided by PPG’s software development arm PINETREE® and a full PPG approved sundries offer in both BODYLINE® and ESSENTIALS®.

PPG has fully integrated Brown Brothers into its business and the renaming of Brown Brothers to PPG Refinish Distribution completes PPG Refinish UK & Ireland’s ‘One Team’ vision and completely aligns the business to PPG’s global vision of ‘One PPG’. The change is the completion of extensive work that has been carried out over the past 12 years to align Brown Brothers to PPG in all aspects of the business. From standardisation of processes to inclusion of the PPG logo on Bodyline and Essentials sundries ranges and, most importantly, to ensure that all PPG team members feel part of ‘One Team’.

Since the acquisition of Brown Brothers we have been integrating it fully into the PPG family and the final piece of the puzzle is to rename it so that its seamless participation in our product and service proposition is complete.”

Work is beginning to adjust the look of the PPG Refinish Distribution centres across the country to adopt the PPG corporate design and will continue throughout the coming months in a phased process. This will include van livery, signage and sales materials. Customers can be assured that these changes will not affect or disrupt the high level of service that they currently receive through Brown Brothers. Providing a best in class service has always been at the heart of Brown Brothers and this mantra will continue across all 11 PPG Refinish Distribution centres, as well as the continuation of all existing operations and services.
